This privately owned museum located on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park is a colorful showcase of the American Saddlebred, Kentucky's native breed of horse. Museum visitors can watch an award-winning, 10 minute multi-image theater show; see how they look riding a Saddlebred; walk through a horse trailer; and learn about Saddlebreds in their home state. Open year-round. Memorial Day to Labor Day, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.daily; rest of the year, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.daily. (Closed New Years Day, Thanksgiving Eve and Day, and December 24 & 25) Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, November to mid-March. Open for group tours by appointment.

With its tranquil setting and lovely stone fences and buildings, this National Historic Landmark is one of the most genteel and beautiful race courses in the world. Witness exciting Thoroughbred racing during meets in April and October, world-renowned horse sales in January, April, September and November, and behind-the-scenes "early-morning-workouts" from mid-March to late November. Open year-round. During race meets, first post time is 1:15 p.m. No racing on Mondays or Tuesdays. Grounds are open for visitation from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
