Barren River Lake State Resort Park is showing about an 8% color change. Colors are slowly starting to emerge and speckle the landscape with subtle tints of red, yellow, orange, and even dark purple among the leaves! Dogwoods and sumac are definitely dominating the scene right now with their vibrant red. The peak colors are expected to happen the third weekend of October.
Come anytime during the month of October to view the “Trail of Scarecrows”. Stop by the lodge’s Driftwood Restaurant to vote for your favorite scarecrow anytime or choose to visit during one of our delicious special food nights.
