Pink Lady’s Slipper – Pine Mountain State Resort Park

Although some wildflowers have already peaked, the star of the show has just started to pop up around Pine Mountain State Resort Park. This particular plant was spotted on the Fern Garden Trail. A member of the orchid family, this plant has two large, elliptic leaves at the base of a flowering stalk on top of which rests the

”pink slipper.” Flattering the forest floor with its pink beauty and growing up to 16 inches tall, this flower truly shines! When venturing out on the trails keep your eyes open for the exquisite and colorful, Pink Lady’s Slipper, and be sure to bring your camera!

Come see it for yourself and stay in one of the cottages, rustic cabins, or lodge rooms. There is no better place to go hiking, birding, or escape from the daily routine! Call or go online to make your reservation today.
